Fake Friend Test is a fun quiz: you answer questions about yourself and see how well your friends know you. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and why.

What we collect

We only collect what the quiz needs:

  • The name you type: when you make a quiz, or when you play a friend’s quiz. It doesn’t have to be your real name.
  • Quiz details: if you make a quiz, the gender you pick (it changes the wording of questions), your country and language, and your answers.
  • Your guesses and score: when you play a friend’s quiz.
  • A scrambled fingerprint of your internet (IP) address: only to stop spam (for example, one person creating thousands of quizzes). We never store the address itself, and the fingerprint can’t be turned back into it.

We do not ask for your email, phone number, password, photos or exact location, and you don’t need an account.

Who can see it

  • Anyone with a quiz link can see the creator’s name, and the names and scores on that quiz’s scoreboard.
  • Only the quiz creator can see each friend’s individual guesses.
  • The correct answers are only shown to a friend after they finish playing.
  • We never sell your information.

On your device

Your browser keeps a few things in its local storage so the site works: your quiz’s private key (so only you can manage it), your language, your country, sound on/off, and which quizzes you’ve already played. We don’t use tracking cookies. Clearing your browser data removes them, but then you lose access to manage your quiz from that device.

Where it’s stored

The website runs on Cloudflare, and quizzes and scores are stored in a secure database run by Supabase (servers in Singapore). To guess your country when you make a quiz, your IP address may be checked by Cloudflare or by the free service country.is; it isn’t saved.

Visitor counts

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: which pages are opened, and the country, browser and device type. It uses no cookies, doesn’t follow you to other websites, and doesn’t tell us who you are.

How long we keep it

Until the quiz is deleted. Quiz creators can delete their whole quiz (with everyone’s scores) at any time from the menu (☰ → “Delete my quiz”), and can remove any friend from their scoreboard.

Removing your data

  • You made a quiz: open the site on the same device, then ☰ → “Delete my quiz”.
  • You played a friend’s quiz: ask your friend to remove you, or email us with the quiz link and the name you used, and we’ll delete it.
  • You can also email us to ask what we hold about you or to correct it.

Age

This site is for people aged 13 and over. If you’re under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is okay with you using it. If you believe a child under 13 has used the site, email us and we’ll delete their data. We keep the content teen-friendly.

Security

The database can only be reached by our server, connections are encrypted, and each quiz has a private key so only its creator can manage it. No system is perfect, so please don’t type anything private into a quiz name.

Changes

If we change how we handle data (for example, if we start showing ads), we’ll update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
